In which language does it work?
Bluntly said: English is quite a simple language. Many other languages have a much more difficult structure, especially gendered languages. But all these languages belong to our cultural richness, and inclusion should be possible here too. That's why Witty, from the start, has covered English and German, and is planned to add more languages in the future.
Grammarly only covers English.


How much does it cost?
Both Grammarly and Witty have a free version. Grammarly's free version solely checks Grammar. Witty's free version checks - apart from Grammar - also over 40 different diversity dimensions.
Grammarly business plan costs $15.00 USD per seat/month while Witty business costs $ 14.90 USD per seat/month.
What about privacy and trust?
Trust from our users and privacy is our deep conviction. We take it very seriously and go much further than many other services.
- Witty collects all data anonymously. We can never associate any text you wrote with your profile.
- We never store your entire text. We collect a few words before and after the highlighted term (100 characters), and ONLY if a user accepts an alternative or chooses to ignore a highlighted term.
- Furthermore, paid users can choose to disable this context collection entirely.
While Grammarly doesn't collect any data in sensitive fields (like Witty), it allows itself to collect user content of all text, documents, or other content or information uploaded, entered, or otherwise transmitted by users.
So if privacy is dear to you, I guess you know what to choose.

Grammarly and Witty are both browser plugins, which means they work while you write in sites across the web, such as LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter.
Grammarly additionally works in many desktop applications such as Outlook or Microsoft Words. Witty not yet, but we will get there :).
